De camino a Maxx FC 3: El debut de “La Anaconda” del Oeste
Nacido en Richmond, Virginia, David Vanden Bosch lleva viviendo en la Isla desde los 15 años. Este próximo 15 de marzo cumple los 30, pero más importante aun, este viernes 27 de febrero hace su debut profesional como peleador de MMA.
Sus amigos le llaman “La Anaconda” por la manera en que incapacita a sus oponentes en el piso hasta rendirlos. A pesar de su apodo, David se considera un peleador completo.
Vanden Bosch que hace su debut en las 140 libras, anteriormente practicaba Tae Kwon Do y Jeet Kun Do (disciplina y filosofía desarrollada por el legendario Bruce Lee). Empezó a entrenar para MMA hace cuatro años, cuando se enteró de las audiciones para la quinta temporada de The Ultimate Fighter. Ganó sus primeras dos peleas clasificatorias pero tuvo que rendirse en la tercera y última para entrar al “reality show” de UFC. A pesar de ese revés, no se siente arrepentido asegurando que: “It’s my time now”.
Es admirador del actual campeón de los pesos ligeros, el hawaiano BJ Penn e instructor de Yoga. Esta aparente contradicción de entrenar para pelear y de enseñar una disciplina tan pacífica como Yoga, es parte de su filosofía de vida: “en el balance está la felicidad” según nos relata Vanden Bosch.
Pasando la mayor parte de sus días entre los pueblos de Mayagüez y Rincón, no es raro que sea amante del surfing. Parte de su entrenamiento lo realiza en las facilidades de New Age Fitness Club en Mayagüez, administradas por su manejador José Barceló.
De esta manera “La Anaconda” hace su debut este viernes 27 de febrero contra el peleador de L.A. Boxing de Guaynabo Mike Erosa y lo único que espera es que pase lo que pase, después de la pelea “we can have a beer together”.

Muy buen show por Maximo, definitivamente tambien tienen mucho que mejorar y siendo este su tercer evento de MMA podria haber estado mucho mejor. A Rafael Moreno de Aguada, tremenda pelea, la mejor de la noche y tiene mucho corazon; tiene un muy buen futuro en MMA.
A los peleadores de la escuela de Humacao: tienen muy buenos prospectos sin embargo no se les pueden llamar verdaderos peleadores de artes marciales mixtas, son mas bien peleadores de jiu jitsu, no tienen buen stand up game y tienen que recurrir a lo unico que tienen que es el ground game. Deben mejorar su stand up.
Mikey Erosa al igual que sus contemporaneos de Humacao debe mejorar su stand up. Practicando en LA Boxing y siendo este un gimnasio en el que existen instructores de Muay Thai me parece extra~o que no tenga buen stand up. La Anaconda aunque no duro mucho la pelea se nota que si la pelea se hubiera quedado arriba Mikey Erosa hubiese estado en graves problemas pero como los demas que no tienen confianza en su stand up lo llevo a donde unico sabia que tenia la oportunidad de hacer algo. Me gustaria ver mas de La Anaconda y de Rafael Moreno.
Rectifico:Rafael Moreno peleo y lucio bien, pero Armando Acevedo de Aguada le dio liga. Me gustaria ver mas de Armando Acevedo.
Primero que nada este mensaje aclara algunos de los argumentos de “MMA FAN”:
Primero que nada quiero decir que respeto a todos los atletas que practican este deporte y que por este medio no quiero restarle meritos a ninguno de los peliadores incluidos en este comentario, en especial a Armando Acevedo pero debo contestar a comentarios no muy bien pensados por parte de otro participante de esta pagina.
Para empezar sin quitarle merito a Armando eso de que “le dio la liga”
a Moreno esta fuera de lugar. Para empezar “MMA FAN” si estuvistes alli sabes que la decision fue unanime 29-28 por parte de los tres jueces en favor de Moreno. Sin contar que Armando fue rendido via (rear naked choke).La unica razon por la cual el combate no se detuvo fue por que el arbitro no pudo ver en el momento en que Armando se rendia por lo cual se tuvo que reanudar la pelea. En el ground game Moreno pudo hacer muchisimos mas intentos de rendicion lo cual demuestra la intencion de querer acabar la pelea y lo que le llamamos “Octagon Control” punto muy importante para la evaluacion de los jueces. Aunque como nota alcalce quiero mencionar que yo tambien quiero ver mas de Armando Acevedo en los proximos evento y quizas hasta una revancha.
No tengoningun tipo de alianza con la escuela de Humacao pero eso de que “tienen que recurrir a lo unico que tienen que es el ground game. Deben mejorar su stand up” demuestra la falta de conocimiento acerca de este deporte.
Para comenzar si conoces un poco de historia cuando el MMA comenzo al principio de la decada de los 90 el proposito de (The Ultimate Fighting) era probar cual estilo de pelea era superior al otro no jugar a ser boxeadores, por que de nada vale ser el peleador mas completo si entonces vas a ser rendido por un peleador “uni-dimensional”. Si no consideramos a los peleadores de Humacao como peleadores de MMA, dime tu como consideramos a sus adversarios ya que fueron 4 en 4 peleas distintas en las cuales estos peleadores resultaron victoriosos. Esto no les quita merito a los adversarios de anoche, simplemente los peleadores de Humacao fueron mucho mejores gracias a su entrenamiento y esfuerzo, el mismo que estoy seguro por el cual tuvieron que pasar aun los peleadores que resultaron derrotados en la cartelera de ayer. Ademas no olvidemos que Sergio Salazar gano via TKO (referee stopage)How is that for striking skills!!!
Moraleja “Si puedes llegar a tu trabajo mas rapido y facil en un carro, por que decidirias ir caminando” Esto fue lo mismo que hicieron los peleadores de Humacao estudiaron las debilidades de sus oponentes y utilizaron sus fortalezas para lograr sus victorias.
De 4 peleas, 4 victorias, esas cosas no pasan por casualidad…”Nothing Personal Just Business” es su Slogan y hasta el momento “Dont take it personal, they just know how to handle Business”
En mi opinion no creo que Edwin,Anaconda,Jonathan, Lorenzo y Armando no tengan confianza en sin mismos simplemente sus contrincantes supieron capitalizar en el momento preciso para alzarse con la victoria.
Este mensaje no pretendio ofender a “MMA FAN” ni a ningun peleador de la cartelera de MAXX FC 3 pero si quize enviar un mensaje de que cuando vayamos a comentar lo hagamos de una manera objetiva y pensemos antes de escribir.

En mi opinion el evento estuvo bastante bueno, pero aun hay pal de cosas que se pueden mejorar; claro esta que aun se esta levantando el deporte en la isla. Y pues estoy de acuerdo con el MMA Fan ya que muchos de los peleadores aunque saben capitalizar muy bien, deberian mejorar bastante su stan up porque ya de esta otros van a aprender y no cometer el erroe de llegar al piso y entonces es que se les van a poner los huevos a peceta. Y acerca de la Anaconda pueden estar seguros que no han visto lo ultimo de el!

Esperemos que aquellos competidores de Humacao que no se portaron como verdaderos peleadores ( y ustedes saben quienes son aunque traten de justificar la conducta poco deportiva de uno de sus competidores y los golpes ilegales de otro )hayan aprendido la leccion y se comporten mejor en el proximo evento.
El que sean buenos competidores ahora no les da carta blanca para que quieran guillarse de superman y ser tan arrogantes. Ganan mas siendo humildes y sencillos como el Anaconda. Y ya dio la fecha Abril 18. Anaconda are u fighting on this one? Seria genial ver si los de Humacao dan liga con los estadounidenses. Entiendo que este va a ser un evento interesante. Sin embargo creo que es un poco apresurado en terminos de la recuperacion de los competidores del ultimo evento y su tiempo de entrenamiento. Vamos a ver que pasa.

Remember that inside the cage or out of it you can remain a true gentleman and that is what attracts people to certain fighters. That in your face attitude is good when you are fighting but not with the fans.
